MEET THE TEAM

Ben Buckley

CSALT Manager

Kia ora! I’m Ben, and I have the privilege of managing the CSALT Academy here in Mount Maunganui. My role is all about overseeing the delivery of the program, supporting our staff and volunteers, and journeying alongside each student as they grow in their faith, leadership and calling.

From surf trips and teaching sessions to behind-the-scenes planning and day-to-day operations, I work closely with our team to make sure CSALT runs smoothly and stays true to its mission. I love seeing students challenged, encouraged, and inspired to live fully for Jesus, both in and out of the water.

When I’m not with the students, I’m spending time with my wife Rachel (who helped pioneer CSALT and now works quietly behind the scenes) and our daughter Ava, enjoying life in the Mount and getting out in the surf whenever I can.

Luke Green

CSALT Operations Facilitator

Hey! I’m Luke, and I have the privilege of serving as the CSALT Operations Facilitator. That means I get to be right in the thick of things with our students, helping lead the day-to-day program, sharing life and faith, and making sure CSALT runs smoothly.

Alongside Ben, I help oversee the program, disciple students, and journey with them one-on-one as they grow in their walk with Jesus. Whether it’s paddling out for a dawnie surf together, leading an adventure away, or catching up over coffee, I love seeing students step into all that God has for them.

It’s such a gift to be part of this community and watch God transform lives!

Thea Epp

CSALT House Leader

Hi, I’m Thea, and I’m stoked to be the volunteer House Leader here at CSALT! I live on-site with our amazing students, helping to make the CSALT house a welcoming, well-run, and encouraging space to live in. From organising meal rosters and grocery runs to keeping the place tidy and setting healthy rhythms, I help make sure daily life in the house runs smoothly.

More importantly, I’m here to walk alongside each student, listening, encouraging, and supporting them as they grow in their faith and leadership. I love seeing our students flourish in community, tackle challenges, and have fun doing life together.

When I’m not at the house, you’ll probably find me at my part-time job or enjoying everything Mount Maunganui has to offer.
